| By Simon Hradecky, created Wednesday, Oct 8th 2008 14:26Z, last updated Wednesday, Oct 8th 2008 14:26Z A Hainan Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration B-6088 performing flight HU490 from Berlin Tegel (Germany) to Beijing (China), had to return to Tegel Airport after the left hand engine failed. The emergency landing was safe.
The crew told the passengers, that the oil pressure of an engine had dropped. An eye witness on the ground reported, that the airplane was just overhead Falkensee in night conditions, when the engine produced a loud audible bang and a burst of fire clearly visible on the ground.

10月5日，海航 A330-200, 注册号 B-6088, HU490 柏林-北京航班，起飞不久后左发失效，返回柏林机场，紧急降落，安全落地。
机组告诉乘客，有一台发动机的滑油压力下降。地面一名目击者说，当时是夜间，飞机在 Falkensee 上空，发动机发出大声的爆响，从地面可清楚地看见火焰喷出。
